An Antique Brooch with Rose Cut Diamonds Blue enamel, heart-shaped, set with rose-cut diamonds, with case, ca. 1890, dimensions 21 x 24 mm.

Here we have a delightful brooch come pendant dating back to the Victorian period. This antique piece has been crafted from 18ct gold into the shape of a love heart with a multi-layered design. The centre of the face showcases a duo of interconnected hearts formed by expertly silver claw set rose cut diamonds. This romantic motif sits atop a rich deep navy blue enamelled filled backdrop which, in turn, is surrounded by a fine gold border and then a frame of matching rose cut diamonds around the outer edge. The piece is made complete by a bail and separate latched fastening on the reverse side allowing it to be worn in a variety of ways.
