The Victorian brooch is made of 18k gold and features a heart shape. In the centre, two silver hearts interconnected, surmounted by a knot – a symbol of eternal bond, as since the 15th century the knight had given his beloved a cloth with a knot and a hanging gold heart – are made of silver, studded with rose-cut diamonds and stand out on a deep blue enamel. The brooch is completed by an outline of rose-cut diamonds that follows the shape of the heart, while on the back is visible the clasp and there is an eyelet that allows the jewel to be worn as a pendant. The brooch is preserved in excellent condition and is kept inside the original case.
