Il pendente è realizzato in diaspro verde e inquadrato in una montatura in oro e diamanti. L’intaglio rappresenta una figura maschile nuda seduta, ritratta di profilo mentre appoggia un piede su un basamento. In una mano cinge un caduceo, ovvero un bastone con due serpenti attorcigliati, simbolo dell’equilibrio del bene e del male. Il caduceo è un attributo di Mercurio, divinità della mitologia romana dove era considerato protettore del commercio e dei viaggi atori, oltre ad essere il messaggero degli dèi e colui che conduceva le anime nell’aldilà.

The pendant is made of green jasper and framed in a gold and diamond setting. The intaglio represents a naked male figure sitting, portrayed in profile while resting one foot on a stand. In one hand he wraps a caduceus, which is a stick with two twisted snakes, symbol of the balance of good and evil. The caduceus is an attribute of Mercury, deity of Roman mythology where he was considered protector of trade and travelers, as well as being the messenger of the gods and the one who led the souls in the afterlife.
