Questo cammeo rinascimentale è ascrivibile alla fine del XVI secolo, è realizzato in agata, ed inserito in una montatura classicheggiante probabilmente 800esca in oro giallo: il gambo è ornato da due mascheroni racchiusi all’interno di una voluta, la parte inferiore è connotata da decorazioni a fogliame e scanalature, presenti anche nella chiusura a notte del cammeo. La parte superiore della montatura, di forma ovale, presenta ulteriori piccole decorazioni scanalate che impreziosiscono ulteriormente l’anello e incorniciano il cammeo in agata, dove si riconosce una raffigurazione del profilo di Omero, poeta dell’Antica Grecia a cui è attribuita la paternità dell’Iliade e dell’Odissea, nonché i due poemi greci più celebri. L’iconografia di Omero è riconoscibile da alcuni dettagli, a partire dal copricapo da cui spuntano capelli ricci, così come la folta barba, la presenza della corona d’alloro – simbolo per eccellenza della gloria, della sapienza e della poesia – ma soprattutto, la sua attribuzione può essere restituita con certezza dal fatto che è rappresentato con occhi bianchi, privi di pupilla, in quanto la tradizione lo voleva cieco, sebbene non è da escludersi che fosse una credenza popolare derivata dal fatto che il nome Omero significava, in greco antico, «colui che non vede», divenendo così prerogativa della sua iconografia, oltre che sintomo di doti profetiche. 

This Renaissance cameo can be attributed to the end of the 16th century, is made of agate, and inserted in a probably Nineteenth-century classical yellow gold setting: the stem is adorned with two masks enclosed inside a volute, the lower part is characterized by foliage decorations and grooves, also present in the night closure of the cameo. The upper part of the frame, oval, has further small, fluted decorations which further embellish the ring and frame the agate cameo, where we recognize a depiction of the profile of Homer, a poet of Ancient Greece to whom the authorship of the 'Iliad and the Odyssey, as well as the two most famous Greek poems. Homer's iconography is recognizable by some details, starting from the headdress from which curly hair emerges, as well as the thick beard, the presence of the laurel wreath – symbol par excellence of glory, wisdom and poetry – but above all, its attribution can be returned with certainty by the fact that he is represented with white eyes, without pupils, as tradition wanted him blind, although it cannot be ruled out that it was a popular belief derived from the fact that the name Homer meant, in ancient Greek, "the one who does not see", thus becoming the prerogative of his iconography, as well as a symptom of prophetic qualities.
