The jasper intaglio is attributable to the Roman production of the 2nd century and has an engraving depicting Minerva, goddess of wisdom and right war, as well as protector of artisans thanks to the cult that spread among the Etruscans. Here the goddess is presented with the attributes that make her typically recognizable, including the crested helmet, a long spear that connotes her as a warrior goddess and protector and, finally, a pàtera (or phiale), which is a cup used to offer drinks during ritual sacrifices.

L’intaglio in diaspro è ascrivibile alla produzione romana del II secolo e presenta un’incisione raffigurante Minerva, dea della saggezza e della guerra giusta, oltre che protettrice degli artigiani grazie al culto che si diffuse presso gli Etruschi. Qui la dea viene presentata con gli attributi che la rendono tipicamente riconoscibile, tra cui l’elmo crestato, una lunga lancia che la connota come dea guerriera e protettrice e, infine, una pàtera (o phiale), ossia una coppa usata per offrire bevande durante i sacrifici rituali.
