L’anello si distingue per la presenza di un cammeo d’epoca romana, databile tra il II e il III secolo, scolpito in agata e incastonato in una montatura in oro dalla forma ottagonale. Il soggetto del cammeo è un cigno, animale che a partire dall’età ellenistica viene comunemente associato ad Afrodite, quale emblema di amore e bellezza, attributi tradizionalmente legati alla divinità. Tuttavia, la simbologia del cigno compare frequentemente anche in relazione ad Apollo, dio della musica e conduttore del carro solare, grazie al suo celebre canto melodioso e al candore delle piume che richiamano la luce del sole.

The ring is characterized by a cameo from the Roman era, dating back to the 2nd and 3rd centuries, carved in agate and set in a gold octagonal frame. The subject of the cameo is a swan, an animal that since the Hellenistic age has been commonly associated with Aphrodite, as an emblem of love and beauty, attributes traditionally linked to the divinity. However, the symbolism of the swan also frequently appears in relation to Apollo, god of music and conductor of the solar chariot, thanks to his famous melodious song and the whiteness of the feathers that recall the light of the sun.
