Signed Simon, measuring approximately 20mm x 16mm, mounted in 18ct gold, ring size 7 Jean-Marie-Amable-Henri SIMON said Simon fils (1788-1866). Charles X period, circa 1828 The notable self-taught French gem engraver and medallist Romain Vincent Jeuffroy (1749-1826) had a junior colleague named Jean Marie Simon Fils. Little is known of Simon Fils except that he was active in the first half of the 19th century in France, but it is possible this gem is by him.
