An Art Déco platinum ring from the early 20th century, set with an old marquise cut diamond of approximately 1.5 carats color H clarity SI and a diamond border of old cut diamonds. The marquise cut was created in France, more precisely in the 1700s at the court of Louis XV; this particular cut was a tribute by the French King to his lover, called Jeanne Antoinette Poisson, the Marquise De Pompadour.
