Description

The late 19^th century ring features a yellow gold setting with a distinctive interplay of weaves supporting a carnelian intaglio with an Italian noble coat of arms. The carnelian, in fact, has a rich engraving featuring a coat of arms in the centre with a squirrel holding an acorn – historically associated with the Berruti family – above which you can glimpse hanging fruit, perhaps cherries, and a crown to indicate the social status of the family to which it belonged. On the sides, two magnificent rampant unicorns can be seen, a symbol of strength and purity; while the upper part is further decorated with an interweaving of scrolls or acanthus leaves surmounted by a rampant lion, confirming the family's symbol of strength and power.
