L’anello di epoca settecentesca presenta una montatura coeva in cui è incastonato un intaglio in cristallo di rocca. La pietra riporta un’incisione stilizzata di difficile comprensione ma che potrebbe essere associato a una stilizzazione della Menorah ebraica, simbolo centrale dell’ebraismo con cui si rappresentano i sette giorni della creazione – di cui il sabato al centro – e i sette pianeti. L’attribuzione di questo soggetto, in mancanza di ulteriori riscontri, è suggerita dalla presenza di due esagrammi, nonché stelle di David che sanciscono l’unione tra il cielo e la terra, lo spirito e la materia. La montatura in argento presenta un punzone nella parte inferiore del gambo.

A carved rock crystal is embedded in the contemporary frame of the 18th-century ring. The stone has a stylized engraving that is difficult to comprehend, but it could be linked to a stylized representation of the Jewish Menorah, a symbol of Judaism that depicts the seven days of creation - including the Sabbath - and the seven planets. The attribution of this subject, in the absence of further evidence, is suggested by the presence of two hexagrams, as well as stars of David that seal the union between heaven and earth, spirit and substance. The silver frame has a punch at the bottom of the stem.
