Art Deco Onyx And Old Cut Diamond Platinum Ring c.1920

Period: Art Deco, early XXth century.

Head length: 1.7cm x 1.2cm.

Size: 6.

Weight: 4.05 gr.

The ring has an oval flat onyx, in the center of which you find a round diamond cut old about 1 ct, in a platimun setting.

The onyx stone, typically used in the Art Deco period, is framed by a platinum frame that recreates geometric patterns and gives an octagonal shape to the ring.

In this historical period, jewelry began to present more linear and geometric designs: the classic garland style, which used widely feminine and delicate patterns, characterized by light tones was replaced by an effervescent explosion of vibrant primary colors. Jewelry became accessories that directly adapted to the shape and colors of the clothes worn. In addition to geometric lines we find a wide use of precious gems that were cut, as jade, onyx, ruby, emerald, rock crystal, malachite, turquoise.
